Chinese Park Status

October 19, 2015
Updates from this week:

  • The majority of construction is complete!
  • Trees should be installed in late October or early November
  • Signage installation is anticipated to occur in mid-November

August 19, 2015
Updates from this week:

  • The parking lot now looks like a parking lot
  • Wheel stops and striping are complete
  • Some finishing touches to the irrigation system are going to be worked on in the near future
  • Plantings will most likely be put in in September (we are watching the weather) with trees coming later
  • Signage is in the submittal stage with a planned installation of the signs scheduled for November of this year

July 30, 2015
Updates from this week:

  • Paving on the parking lot is on hold, pending the resolution of issues
    associated with the storm water system on the site
  • Lighting features near the Fuzhou Ting have been installed, but not
    powered up yet
  • Samples of signage are being fabricated for approval by the City
    before installation

July 21, 2015
Updates from this week:

  • The contaminated soil has been removed
  • The contractor is prepping for paving the parking lot this week
  • The fence posts have been installed and the irrigation system is going in
  • The drainage for the site is now in place

July 10, 2015

The Chinese Reconciliation Park Phase 3 project includes the architectural/engineering design and construction of the following enhancement features:

  • Fencing designed with Chinese motif to screen park guests from the parking lot and nearby road.
  • Signage designed with Chinese motif, including but not limited to a welcome sign, two interpretive signs, ADA parking signs and other miscellaneous parking signs.
  • Parking lot of 30 to 40 spaces, including earthwork, drainage, paving, striping and code required landscaping.
  • Two up-lights at the Fuzhou Ting near the back corner of the park to enhance illumination and security and upgrades of the existing lights underneath the bridge to light up the parking lot.
  • Landscaping enhancement with plants including irrigation where needed.
  • Removal of approximately 1,000 cubic yards of metals contaminated soils.
